SSC Applications
Intellon Spread Spectrum Carrier (SSC) ICs are used by the trucking industry to check the status of ABS braking systems over existing tractor-trailer wiring harnesses. By embedding our SSC technology in their trucks, leading brake manufacturers are enhancing highway safety and saving lives every day.
In addition, Intellon SSC ICs have been used successfully in commercial and home automation applications to allow remote meter reading, manage electrical loads, and control lighting, heating and security.
HomePlug Commercial Applications
Intellon customers have created a number of innovative networking applications for small businesses, hotels, office buildings, multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and government offices - even Navy ships - by adding their own hardware and software to Intellon HomePlug-compliant ICs. Typically they use our ICs to customize applications for non-home markets where Ethernet connectivity is not an option. Although many of these non-home applications use existing electrical wiring, some use coax cable or telephone lines instead.
Intellon HomePlug-compliant ICs are also used in broadband over powerline (BPL) applications to deliver broadband Internet service to homes and small businesses over utility powerlines. These "access" or "last mile" applications include special hardware and software created by our customers.
