Intellon's products are based on the company's technology for implementing low-cost wireless networks. The Company's Spread Spectrum Carrier technology is embodied in a family of integrated circuits (ICs) for communications over powerline and RF media.
Intellon ICs serve as the fundamental building blocks that enable manufacturers to easily embed wireless, distributed control capabilities into their products.
Intellon also offers a family of development tools to help manufacturers move quickly through their evaluation and design phases.
The Intellon SSC P485 PL Transceiver IC is a highly integrated spread spectrum communication transceiver for implementing low-cost networking products. The SSC P485 contains a Spread Spectrum Carrierä (SSC)transceiver, signal conditioning circuitry, and a simple host interface. A minimum of external circuitry is required to connect the SSC P485 to the DC powerline, twisted pair cable, or other communication medium. Intellon's SSC P485 ICs are used in transportation applications for on board powerline communication networking.
Intellon's family of powerline ICs is optimized for communications over AC or DC powerline networks. The ICs range from basic spread spectrum transceivers to more capable network interface controllers that include networking capabilities in addition to the spread spectrum transceiver functionality.
